Psychotherapy & Jungian Analysis

Perhaps your mental image of yourself has been hurt, but this image is not your true nature; being hurt by someone has revealed some area of fragility in you-not something bad, rather an area of the personality that needs care, forgiveness and compassion.

Jung said:  “The right way to wholeness is made up…of fateful detours and wrong turnings.”

In therapy we can explore the meaning, often hidden, in such a detour.

“During each molting, the larva of the butterfly is left vulnerable until a new protective coat grows around it.  Emotional vulnerability and nakedness are characteristic of change periods in a person’s life.  In fact, this may be the most evident sign of imminent transformation”. (Stein, M., Transformation, p. 12).
